NATIONAL SHIPMENTS (USA)
All shipments are sent by FedEx or similar carrier fully insured. A 4.25% sales tax is applied to shipments within NY state when shipped to locations which are outside New York City, and an 8.63% combined sales tax applies to all retail sales within New York City
(all orders are shipped).
INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS
All shipments are sent by FedEx and we are glad to report that it has been a successful service both in the handling of the cameras and clearing of foreign customs for customers and in the final delivery a commercial invoice / customs declaration for the full value of the camera and an SED to the department of commerce on items which value exceeds $2500.00 must be submitted by us with the airbill.
Cost of shipping to all international destinations w/insurance is $100.00. Those international customers who prefer receiving the equipment in person in New York City must pay the 8.63% applicable sales tax even if funds were wire transferred.
If in turn and because of being foreign nationals in transit they may be entitled to recover these funds, it is not up to us to determine that or which jurisdiction and country offers such programs and we are obligated to collect sales tax in full.
PAYMENT METHODS ACCEPTED
For sales within the US we accept business, personal checks, business checks, cashiers checks or money orders or credit card payments thru Paypal. For international sales we accept wire transfers or a business, personal check or money order in dollars from a US account drawn from a bank located in the US and credit card payments thru Paypal
A 3 1/2 % service fee is added to credit card payments thru Paypal because they deduct 3 1/2 % plus an additional fee to withdraw the funds to our account. This second fee we gladly absorb as a cost of doing business but the 3 1/2 % we cannot.
Wire transfers usually cost under 25.00 and are secure. On the other hand Credit card payments are a good way to get the ball rolling for those who don't have the whole amount upfront and our experience has been that most who ordered thru credit card for this reason were glad in the end that the expected 90 day wait did not have to turn into 6 months or a year.
Foreign checks are not acceptable even if the currency is US dollars.
Note that banks may charge a fee for wire transfers, this fee is to be considered as additional to our invoice total and submitted accordingly and considered a bank fee.
All applicable duties that may result from importation of the cameras to the country of destination are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
AVAILABILITY POLICY
Unless we advertise or you have received an email announcing a special delivery schedule when we move to pre producer the 127mm units twice a year we are returning to our original production policy which will be effective as of 8/1/02 and all units must be ordered on an estimated 60 day prepaid basis.
Units with Schneider lenses always take an estimated 60 days and units with 127mm Rodenstock lenses always take an estimated 60 days unless we have a promo on a few units for expedited delivery.
